Having Hope

🙌🏻 Hope 🙌🏻 It’s always been one of my favorite words.
While deep in conversation with my mom, many years ago, I used the word Hope a couple of times. I’ll never forget what my mom said because it stung so bad. “Richelle, you’ve used that word more than once. All hope is, is wishful thinking.” My heart was pierced. I had never looked up the definition of Hope. I knew she was wrong, but I didn’t have the words for a clear explanation. How do you describe Hope?
I do not remember how much time had passed or if I was watching TV or doing a Bible Study, but I found it…the definition that I would cling to. I found my Hope thanks to Beth Moore...
Confident Expectation.
There it was. I knew it was truth, so much so, that I wrote it on the inside cover of my Bible.
During my treatment, I learned how to pray.. I mean really pray. I found one Psalm {Psalm 128} that gave me resolve. It gave me Hope. My favorite verse in this Psalm, the one that I cherish and Hope for says:
“May you see your children’s children” {Psalm 128:6}.
That, is what I wanted so desperately. Lord help me live long enough to see my children’s children, and their children. My Lord has been faithful.

I pray,
For anyone who is fighting a battle,
For those who love someone who is fighting,
For those who can’t see the end of the storm,
I pray you never lose Hope.
I pray you,
Confidently Expect that there will be a last surgery, last chemo session and a last radiation treatment,
Confidently Expect that there will be a last doctor’s visit, and
Confidently Expect that, one day, this disease will be eradicated.
I pray that HOPE can carry you through, because “hope does not disappoint.” {Romans 5:5}
❤️ Richelle
